A residency in partnership with Interlochen Center for the Arts
March 12-14th
at Interlochen Center for the Arts

Parallel 45 will launch an official partnership with Interlochen Center for the Arts, creating a full-time, dedicated residency for directors and theatre-makers to create new material utilizing Interlochen’s extraordinarily talented theatre students. P45 artist, Shelby Lewis (A Christmas Carolin Prose, Alice in Wonderland, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged), will devise a new production based on L.M. Montgomery's "Anne of Green Gables".

March - May, 2020

Parallel 45 Theatre invites you to a series of free play readings featuring daring playwrights produced around the country and the world. Witness bold works written by notable playwrights and performed by some of our community's most talented actors and directors.

Artistic Team: Sarah Bielman, Nicholas Viox, Shelby Lewis, Kit McKay, Brett Nichols, Kristina Nichols, Erin Anderson Whiting

Parallel 45 Theatre is committed to innovative, original material dedicated to our community’s youngest patrons.  New works for children are increasingly pushing the boundaries on stages across the country. This trend dovetails beautifully with Parallel 45’s overarching belief in the importance of looking at the world from a new angle; you’re never too young to learn the power of a new perspective. P45 is dedicated to commissioning one new play each year from the nation’s most daring playwrights. Our 2019 TYA Play Commission was awarded to Kristina Corcoran Williams.

Parallel 45 is generously supported by the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs; additional funding provided by the National Endowment for the Arts
